School Program Success!

Well, we had Lily's first school program last night and I am happy to report that she made a liar out of her mama. She went through with the entire program, I was so very proud of her. This is such a huge step for my little Lily. She has NEVER gone in front of a crowd to perform, she has never conquered her fear for church programs either. She was sooooo excited about her program, so I was really hoping that she would be able to go through with it. Each night leading up to the program we would pray together that God would help her sing on stage, she was so precious asking for God's help to stay up there and "not be scared".
I was hoping that Lily would just be brave enough to stand up there, and that's basically all she did. When Lily gets shy or nervous about something she puts her hands up to her mouth and leaves them there. She walked into the sanctuary with her hands up to her face and she left the stage with her hands up to her face. She did sing a couple of songs, which surprised me, but her hands were hiding her mouth. When they sang This Little Light of Mine, she had one hand by her mouth with the other hand holding up her finger for her "light" right next to her face. It was sooo cute! I, of course, was hoping that she would sing her fish song the way she did at home (see post before this one), but of course she wouldn't. I was just so proud that she was able to get up on stage and not cry. Lily has really come a long way this year, and we are just so proud of her. :)

Lily is ready to go to her program!

Family pic, posing in front of her school

Walking into the sanctuary, hands in mouth or beside mouth the entire time!

This is such a bad pic because it is so dark, but there is my princess with her hands up by her face!

After the performance Lily got to take us all through her classrooms to show us what they do all day. She couldn't wait to show Mimi her rooms!

She loves playing in the house center, with all the babies

Lily is showing Coop, Sam, and Ella the class fish, they thought they were pretty cool!
Lily is one lucky girl to have so many loved ones support her on her special night!
We celebrated the successful evening with ice-cream of course! Thanks Mimi!!!!

I'm glad she was able to face her fear! She looks a lot like Josh, but I have to say the outfit and hair reminds me of a little Whiteley girl I used to know!!! She is such a cutie!

Lily looks so grown up in all of the pictures. It makes me a little sad she is growing up. I'm really proud of her, though. Most people can never overcome their fears, Lily's got everyone beat!
