All Day Kindergarten Here We Come

Lily's first day of all day school is today (me sobbing in the background). I knew this day would come, but I was hoping it wouldn't be here until first grade. I am not thrilled about all day kindergarten, but it is here and there's nothing I can do about it, so I must accept it. Lily's morning went great. She jumped out of bed, ate a few donuts, got fixed up and was ready to hit the road. Josh went to work late so he could come with us to Lily's school. Coop thought he had to wear his backpack just like Lily. And sweet Ruby was just along for the ride. I did really good walking Lily into her classroom and I was still doing good when we got her situated and ready for her day. I did not do so great when I was talking to her sweet teacher. Yes, I started to cry. I was embarrassed and was trying to hide it from Lily. She wasn't crying and I didn't want her to worry about her over emotional mama. In fact I have already cried three different times today and its only 10:30 am. It is a lot harder than I thought it would be, I have always had my Lily with me during the day. Even when I taught, I only taught half a day so she was with me for the greater part of the day. Enough about me, Lily was really excited this morning and much to my surprise did not cry or act nervous when it was time for us to leave. I am so grateful for that, I want her to love school and to be comfortable there. I can't wait to pick her up this afternoon and to hear all about her day. :) 3:00 can't get here soon enough!!!

The original first day of school pose. New outfit-check, new backpack-check, new lunch box-check :)

Lily got a new pair of shoes and LOVES them, here she is showing them off

All three together, love this pic. Coop is pretty lost here without Lily and its only the first day of school :(

Forever mama's girl

Wow! I am so proud of little Miss Lily. Well, someone had to cry and I'm glad it wasn't Lily. She looks adorable in her new outfit and shoes, but really, does she ever NOT look adorable?
All day kindergarten is hard.
Hang in there, Mama and Cooper.
3:00 will be here before you know it.

Just reading this got me all teary eyed, too. Lily is growing up so wonderfully - just exactly how you want it to be. Can't wait to hear from Lily about her day. I love all of you!

Aw Annie, it will be ok. And don't be embarassed, we all love our kids and get a little choked up at milestones like this.

Hell, I sobbed every day for a week when Payton left for school. =o)

She looks so pretty and so grown-up! I'm glad she had a super day at school. You are a mom...and moms cry over stuff like this. It does get easier with your 2nd child. But I will say that last year when I dropped Reece off at middle school for the first time...I cried like a baby the entire way home. Not just tears down my face but loud crying and sobbing.
