Our First Round of Christmas Celebrations!

We had a wonderful weekend full of fun, food, and family. All of my family came up this past weekend (but we did miss my sweet dad, he works WAY too hard) to have a family Christmas with my Mother's side of the family. We had such a great time, I love getting together with my parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and of course all of my nieces and nephews. Everyone had to go home on Sunday to get ready for the big week of Christmas, we are actually heading to Woodward tomorrow to spend Christmas Eve with my family then Christmas day with Josh's family. Because we travel every year at Christmas we try to have a special time with just us four. We let the kids open their gifts that we get them, then of course Santa is able to find us where ever we are on Christmas morning. We started a new tradition with our kiddos this year, usually we do dinner together, drive around and look at Christmas lights, Josh will read the story of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then the kids dig into their gifts. Well, this year we decided we would give each of them three gifts from us to represent the three gifts Jesus received from the Wise Men. I love starting new traditions and I am really excited about this one. It is very important to us to have our children know the true meaning of Christmas, why we celebrate, and to know that we have already been given the most precious, perfect gift in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Josh reading the Bible to Lily and Cooper
Happily posing with their presents! :)
YEA!! A Spiderman flashlight!
Lily loves getting new books!
They both really wanted this puppy that swims in the water, yes even Coop, and I couldn't get it for Lily and not Cooper. (Josh thought it was a little girly, but it is for boys and girls and he was soooo excited).
Josh and I bought each other a new video camera for Christmas so we weren't going to get each other anything else. Well, our kids enjoy "buying" us something almost as much as they enjoy getting gifts. We let the kids "help" pick out one gift for each of us and they were PUMPED! I got new house shoes and I needed them badly.
The kids got their dad a Bass Pro gift card, okay so we might have got a big hint from daddy on what he wanted! :)
I just had to share this pic of Lily and Cooper before church on Sunday. They just look so precious!
We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!!

Love the pictures. What sweet kiddos you have. Sorry to hear you'll be pregnant for 4 more days! But I know you want what's best for little Ruby. Maybe Ruby and Thad will have the same birthday!

That's very cute. I like the swimming dogs. They say "Rescue Dogs" on them. :) I love it.

Your kids are so cute. Lily looks just like you and your mom.

I love your new tradition. Anytime you can emphasize our Saviour's great love for us is a good thing. Lily and Cooper did look adorable Sunday, but then, they always do! Enjoy your Christmas with your families.
