Memorial Weekend at Canton Lake

We had such a wonderful holiday weekend. We went camping at Canton Lake with family and friends and enjoyed every minute of it. Okay, not every minute, I didn't love the LOUD thunderstorms at night. I thought our camper was going to take flight. We were blessed with beautiful weather during the day and we took full advantage of it. We ate delicious food, played games, watched the kiddos play, went to the playground, and just sat around and visited with family. This is such a special time, and I hope we continue to make memories with our family for years to come. :)

Poor Ryder, he gets some tough love from his cousin Coop.

Lily LOVES her cousin Zoe, we don't get to see them that often so its really nice to spend time with them during the camping season. My mom bought all the kids a squirt bottle, they worked out really well. Some of the water guns that we buy are too hard to use so she bought them something they could all squirt. Great idea!!!

Sam and Cooper take it easy in their chairs, aren't they cute?!
Cooper was a big fan of the slide! He did fall off of it once and got a pretty good scratch, but that didn't stop my Coop!
Lily has finally started to enjoy the swings. She used to be terrified of them, look at her now!
Here is a pic of Lily enjoying our "red neck" slip and slide. This was the biggest hit of the weekend. All you need is an old tarp, soap, water and your in for a good time!
Doesn't it look like fun? The adults wanted to give a try, but we didn't have any volunteers.
Coop thought he was freezing after playing in the water!
The kid table, we wouldn't let them eat with us. :)
The last night we were there we built a campfire. All of the kids dragged their chairs over and made a train, they got along really well together and we had a great time!

Of course we had to roast marshmallows. Lily was just too excited to do this, she talked of nothing else but roasting marshmallows when we arrived on Friday.

I am such a city girl, but you actually made camping look fun! It's fun to spend time with family. Can't believe you didn't try the slip-n-slide. Where's your sense of adventure?

Lily and Coop are so cute. My favorite picture is of all the kids with their chair train. I'm not much of a camper, but like my mom said, you make it look fun!

I am glad you guys had such a fun filled weekend! Looks like it was a blast! Never seems to fail that the bad weather hits Canton Lake on Memorial Weekend (at least it used to when I went years ago)! I'm glad it was nothing big and nice during the days! I hope you all made smores with those marshmallows!! YUM!

Ahhh, good memories! Too bad my poor kids won't have those special memories...I think my parents burnt me out camping as a kid...my kids' idea of "roughing it" is at the Ramada!
