New York Trip!! *Warning* Post Overload!

We had such an amazing vacation!!! I loved every minute of it and I am so glad my parents were able to go with us. They are so fun to vacation with because they are ready to do it all. We arrived in New York Thursday evening, we dropped our bags off at the hotel and we were ready to hit the town. Unfortunately, because of the late hour we weren't able to do much, except eat dinner and walk around Time Square for a little while. We got up Friday morning and headed for our first location, Ground Zero, it was so incredible to see in person the empty place where the two World Trade Centers had previously stood. It was an emotional and memorable time. Next we walked and we walked and we walked all over the place. I wish I knew how far we walked that first day, I just know it was miles and miles. Friday evening we all went to a Yankee game which of course was Josh and my dad's favorite part of the trip. They just kept talking about how we were making history, because this is the last year for the Yankees to play at this stadium. I wasn't quite as excited, but I was very happy for the two men. Mom and I got our exciting time at the Broadway show Wicked (I will have to post on this later). I feel like I have posted a million pictures with a million more to share, so I'll have to split my post up so I won't bore you all in one day. Check back later for more pictures of the fabulous town of New York City.

Here we all are on our first night in New York

As we walked around Time Square that first night we walked by a huge Hershey Chocolate store. Well you can just imagine my excitement, I do love me some chocolate. We just had to go in and look around. Mom and I found our new favorite candy bar, I do think this would last me a few days!

Josh loves his chocolate as well, this is actually a bank but we thought it was pretty funny!!

Here is Saint Paul's Church, it is located right next to Ground Zero. It was miraculously unharmed from the terrorist attacks. This church served as a refuge center for all of the heroes that worked day and night at Ground Zero. This church was filled with letters, pictures, stuffed animals and many more things from survivors, families who lost loved ones, and encouraging friends. It was so moving to walk around the memorials and to see how the nation pulled together and sent their love and wishes to New York City.

This banner was hanging in the church. Isn't that so cool?

They had several signs just like this to remember the incredible amount of lives lost that dark day in September

We are approaching Yankee Stadium and Josh is pumped up!
Dad and Josh are standing in line to enter the stadium, just like little boys on Christmas morning.
They gave away free hats to the first 18,000 guests, I thought my mom looked so cute in hers with her bangs poking out. Don't worry after this pic I helped her put on correctly and she was stylin'

Here is just one out of several pics Josh took at the game. Let's just say I think he has a "special" man love for Derek Jeter!

I think that is soo cool that you and your mom are like best friends. I would love to go to the real "city" (where I thought Katie was from) and see all the places I have heard about. AND Please tell me you bought that chocolate bar :)

Yay!!! How fun!!! I can't wait to see your post about Wicked, b/c that's the show we're going to when my sisters come in May...what should I wear to Broadway? Also, I think Taylor has a similar picture with the jug of Hershey's syrup:) What I find so annoying about NYC is to look high-style (well, as close as possible) and still feel comfy, since there's so much walking involved. Did you have that problem too?

Isn't New York so much fun? I, too loved the Hersey's store! Looks like you guys had a blast! You'll have to tell me about Wicked - I've been wondering if it's worth seeing. It's playing here in L.A.

Aaww man! Hershey heaven! I LOVE chocolate. I have a special drawer in my desk at work that is only for chocolate. I would love to visit that store!
I love NYC too. I haven't been in about 10 years, but it was so cool. I want to go back pretty soon. Did you get to go to Central Park?

Sooo jealous! I love New York and especially Times Square. Oh, the theater, the lights, the excitement! After talking to you, I have to see "Wicked". I have to admit, I share Josh's love for Derek Jeter. Mmmmm. . . glad Steve's favorite team is the Yankees. You know, God's favorite team wears pinstripes!
