Yesterday we dedicated an entire day to "Lily's Special Day", (you know like Boots on Dora Explorer when he gets his special day)? My mom came to town over the weekend to help paint Ashley's nursery. She had to go back to Woodward on Tuesday and wanted to take the
grandkids with her. We sent Cooper and Ella with her, but Lily had to stay here due to school. When I tell you she was sad, that is quite the
understatement. My mom wanted to make sure Lily understood that she wanted to take her home, but that I would not let her go because she had school. Imagine that!!! Anyway, because my little princess was heart broken I told her we could have a special day and do whatever she wanted. She was very excited and told me she wanted to and I quote "go on a picnic, play at the park, watch a movie, do lots of fun stuff, and sleep in curlers!!" Well we did all of those things except sleep in curlers, I think she forgot about that because she didn't ask again, but I thought that was
soooo funny. :0)
Katie and I have enjoyed our little break from our terrible two year
olds. We do miss them, but it has been nice having quiet evenings around here. We even went to the mall today with just Lily and Ryder, shopping was actually fun again! Here are a few pictures of "Lily's special day".

We were able to have a very nice picnic because we had beautiful weather, it was a little windy but not too bad!

"Ooooo I really want that acorn....."

Daddy came to the rescue!

Lily and her mommy checking out the ducks

Lily loves to play at the playground by our house, the slides are her favorite!

Playgrounds aren't just for kids!!!

CHEESE!!!

And finally, Mimi felt really bad because Lily was so sad that she left her some money and Lily got to go the store and pick out a toy. Yes, I know she isn't spoiled at all is she! Thanks for the Barbie Mimi she LOVES it!!!
Katie and I are headed to Woodward tomorrow to rescue our mother from Cooper and Ella. We are looking forward to a fun filled weekend with family, two birthday parties, a dance recital, and we get to see Emily get baptized!!

I want you to know that "Mimi" does not need to be rescued. I don't know what you do to make these kids misbehave, but they have been perfect angels for me:D
We all need special days every once in awhile. It looks like Lily really enjoyed her's. She is such a beautiful little girl....the perfect combination of her mom and dad.
What a lucky little girl. I am sure she will remember her special day for a long, long time.
Will you take me on a "Special Day"? Have fun in Woodward this weekend, sounds like you'll be pretty busy.
I am glad you gave Lily a free day. That would be hard to see the other kids get to go to Mimi's! I love that she wanted to sleep in curlers. She is so cute.
That's neat that you gave her a special day. I'm sure she was so sad about not getting to go. That's too funny that she wanted to sleep in rollers. See you this weekend!
That pic of you husband climbing on the jungle gym is too cute. Like the one of him helping Lily get that acorn down too. Funny.
How cute is that Lily? Can't imagine anyone more deserving of a special day. She's a cutiepie.
How sweet! Looks like she had a good special day!
looks like you guys had lots of fun...glad you're back!!
