First Field Trip!!!

Today was Lily's first school field trip, we went to the zoo and had so much fun together. Lily was pumped and ready to go. It was very strange to be on a field trip and not be a teacher. It's much more relaxing as a parent I must say. God blessed us with a beautiful day, and we were worried about rain, but the rain stayed away until early evening. Even though Lily was obviously not the most outgoing child in her class, she still was so sweet and funny. I noticed that she did talk to a couple of her classmates, which is a huge step for Lily. I know I give her a hard time about being insanely shy, but I will brag on her for a moment. She is truly one of the sweetest, kindest little girls to be around. Lily has a big heart and constantly tells me she loves me, at least once an hour. It was a blast to spend this day with her and to see the zoo through the eyes of a child.

Lily is ready to go and Coop gets to spend the morning with his Aunt Brenda, he had a great time at her house.
Awww....the life of a sea lion, nap, swim, nap, eat, nap!
Lily actually went into the petting area, I couldn't believe it. She thought it was pretty cool to brush the goats.
Here is Lily leaning over to get a better look at the peacock, definitely the most entertaining animal of the day. It kept yelping loudly and then raising its beautiful tail feathers. The children loved this and would yelp right back at him.
The elephants are one of Lily's favorite animals to see, there was a little elephant who kept picking up dirt with his trunk and throwing it in the air. Lily thought this was HILARIOUS!!
Lily is as big as an Emperor penguin.
This is by far my favorite picture of the day. The kids were all huddle together waiting for the penguins to jump in the water. When they finally did Lily looked at me with this adorable expression.Lily enjoyed each and every animal we saw, but I would say she was most impressed with this polar bear, she loved watching him walk around and around.
Lily gets to have a sleep over at her cousin Ella's house tonight. She was so pumped, she kept saying "Ella is going to be so excited that I am sleeping in her bed with her!"
Let the party begin!!
And finally, I couldn't resist to leave you with a picture of my little Ryder man and his new favorite "toy". Couldn't you just eat him up?!

I'm so glad you got to spend that special day with Lily. It looks like you guys had a blast!! Her being shy and sweet reminds me so much of Reece. Maybe it just has to do with the fact they are the first child. Because look at Mandy and I...we are both really shy and sweet!!!

You know, Payton was the same exact way as a small child and I was very worried about her socially. But I assure you that Lily will come out of it in her own time. Then she'll have too many friends to count and you'll get notes from school saying she talks too much to her friends. Don't worry Annie =o)

You know what a precious child Lily is and you just can't relate to her shyness :D I'm so glad the weather stayed nice and you got to enjoy the day together. I'm sure the sleep over was a perfect end to Lily's great day!

Lily is looking soooo grown up!! I can't believe how fast they get big! I agree with Mandy G. first born children are awfully shy and sweet (except Max, he's shy, but not really so sweet!)

What a sweet girl! Now how could Taylor not want to name his daughter after that sweetness?! (hopefully he'll read this...)
